Deep-Kumarहाल नेपालमा रहेका राजदूत उपाध्यायले इन्धनको आपूर्तिमा देखिएको असहज अवस्थाका कारण नेपाली जनताले दुःख पाएपछि त्यसलाई समयमै समाधान गर्न नसक्दा उहाँले आफ्नो नयाँ दिल्ली बसाइँ कष्टप्रद रहेको अनुभव भएको बताए ।
नेपाल र भारतबीच ऐतिहासिक सुमधुर सम्बन्ध रहेको बताउँदै राजदूत उपाध्यायले भने–“दुवै मुलुकबीचको सम्बन्धमा देखिएको असहज अवस्थाले कसैलाई पनि फाइदा हुँदैन भन्ने बोध भारतलाई भएको छ ।”
नेपालमा भारतका बारेमा नकारात्मक टिप्पणी बढेकामा नयाँ दिल्ली चिन्तित रहेको अवगत गराउँदै उनले भारतले नेपाललाई आफ्नो नजिकको छिमेकी मित्र र परिवारको एक सदस्य मानेको बताए ।
‘नेपालका राजनीतिक दलले तराईको समस्या समाधानका लागि अहिले देखाएको लचकता र सक्रियता समयमै गरेको भए जनताले दुःख पाउने थिएनन्’ राजदूत उपाध्यायले भने-अहिले समस्या समाधानका लागि सत्तापक्ष र आन्दोलनरत पक्षबीच सबैले जित्ने अवस्था छ ।’
